Hi, Brandy again! My son Caleb is a artsy, sciency, cool kid. I sometimes describe him as different. :)
So for his 7th birthday, my little sister Stephanie, also known as Fefe, came up with the best theme ever, a Mad Scientist party. As soon as she mentioned it, I was all over it. I scoured the blogs and stole borrowed many ideas. It has been awhile but I will try to link up to where the ideas came from.
I got the idea for the slime background here at Party Starters.
For the cupcakes , I used these cute bulletin board cutouts that I found at the Dollar Tree. We just glued them to little sticks to form the toppers.
I saw these at Swanky Tables and just knew I had to have them. We just made green jello and poured into petri dishes. We added some gross gummy brains that I found at a party store around here. Easy Peasy.
I also filled a bunch of new, sterile syringes with jello for the kids. These were one of their favorites. Adults, too.
Drink Station.
Favor Table.
Name Badges.
We sprayed the kids hair green which they loved. We also made a lab coat for each child out of a plain white t-shirt cut up the middle. I found this idea and several others that I used through a link on one of my favorite blogs, Frost Me. Kim is so helpful!
All of the experiments, as well as the beakers and petri dishes, were purchased from Steve Spangler. They were a huge hit with the party guests. We made slime, worms, snow and glow sticks. For the grand finale, we blew up coke bottles with mentos.
It was a lot of work, but it was so worth it to see how excited all of the kids were. Thanks for stopping by!
